That's just fine in MacWhirter's opinion, and they go off into the sunset together! The faked evidence took me in just as it was intended to!

Likewise, the ending was satisfactory: all the characters fell in love. Although I felt a lot of pity for Kay, because she seemed to really love Nevile.
